Timbeco prioritizes construction time with quality management tools

Timbeco employees are using Congrid for quality inspections, weekly safety rounds, and verification of hidden structures.

New Congrid+ app efficiently accelerates quality inspections

With over 30 years of experience in the international prefabricated construction business, Timbeco specializes in the production of prefab and modular homes. Currently employing over 100 construction professionals, the company delivers turnkey home solutions from its factories to countries like the UK, Ireland, and the Nordic countries.

Timbeco, recognized for its award-winning quality, maintains stringent construction quality requirements. The work demands meticulous attention to detail, while professionals also face tight delivery schedules.

Karl Väär, a production manager at Timbeco for nearly 12 years, values digital tools that align well with Timbeco’s specific business needs.

Digital tools should be as flexible and multifunctional as possible to meet our needs. The fewer applications we need for different purposes, the more cost-effective it is for us,” Väär explains.

Timbeco employees use Congrid for quality inspections, weekly safety rounds, and verification of hidden structures during manufacturing.

Amounts of our inspection have increased over time. With the Congrid mobile app, it’s very easy to conduct quality checks directly at inspection sites, significantly saving time,” Väär states.

Recently, the company transitioned to using the new Congrid+ app, which emphasizes enhanced usability and speed.

Saku Vuori, Congrid’s product manager, explains that the development of Congrid+ aims to be a versatile tool for quality and safety management that fits in every builder’s pocket.

We aim that our app users wouldn’t need to spend much work time on our app, as that would detract from their primary task of building. Houses are still built by people, not apps. The role of apps is to serve as tools for success. I believe we succeed when a builder spends the least amount of their workday on our app,” Vuori describes the main goal of the development work.

Production manager Väär has noticed that the new technology and features of the app further facilitate construction progress. The new Congrid+ app is ready to use as soon as certain basic settings are loaded for the project. For the largest projects, loading time is reduced by up to 80%.

In Congrid+, it’s possible to upload multiple photos to an inspection at once, which significantly simplifies work for me. The new app is also faster than the previous version,” Väär summarizes his experience with the changes.

He finds the new user interface clear and praises the uniform and easily shareable reporting among project participants.

Väär believes the software has been easy to adopt right from the beginning of the collaboration. He particularly appreciates the prompt support and personal service.

At the start, we received a very thorough overview of using Congrid from the customer team led by Maria Metsalo. In meetings, we reviewed all the new features as we transitioned to Congrid+. The support has been very professional. If we had any requests, we always received quick responses,” Väär concludes.
